The leather jacket

A brand new blog caterory! In search for the perfect wardrobe: about all the wardrobe essentials one should own! First up? The leather jacket, one of the most versatile clothing pieces that exists. On jeans, on a girlygirly flowerdress, on black, on colour, in Summer, in Winter... You can wear it above anything and during every season of the year. And that's why you should invest in a leather jacket, in my opinion; you can wear it almost 365 days around the clock, so it must be of great quality! In my eyes, fake leather is already a big faux pas anyway (that plastic smell, ugh!). But if you want to make it a wardrobe essential and if you're planning to wear the leather jacket for many many years, it really should be real leather. And real leather isn't cheap. I do have a real leather jacket but it's almost 5 years old and it's falling apart. My favourite leather jackets are from AllSaints! Beautiful but sturdy designs, great quality (lamb leather) and not too expensive (as in: more than €500).

Caroline Blomst - queen of basics - wears a lot of leather jackets, but hers are from Balenciaga, Rika or Acne. But I thought it would be nice if you could see some outfits feathing a (real!) leather jacket and I wouldn't style them any other way - I'm a big fan of (most of) her outfits. I'll let you know when I saved enough money to buy my perfect leather jacket!

Meet Margarita

Meet Margarita! A half Argeninean, half Greek girl who lives in Athens, Greece. She blogs for Carolinesmode and that's where I 'discovered' her blog. I could wear e v e r y t h i n g what's she's wearing right away! I love her simple looks, spiced up with some bohemian touches. I am sure that, after you checked out her blog, you'll love her as much as I do. Take a look at the videos too! Her boyfriend is a moviemaker and he makes stunning videos of their travel journeys.

Oh, Jeanne!

Jeanne Damas, what a woman! Or should I say girl? She's younger than me! But even if she's younger, I don't care - this woman has s-t-y-l-e! And perhaps money too, 'cause all she's wearing is Isabel Marant, Vanessa Bruno, Chloé  and some vintage, Topshop and American Apparel. Well, money is one thing - but she mixes all these brands into one perfect outfit. Her messy ombre hair, endless legs and her big (mostly red) lips make her one of Paris most important it-girls. And one of my favourite it-girls, too. If everybody would add a little of Jeanne's nonchalance to it's life and wardrobe, this world would look much better! I hope she inspires you too...

Do it like Diane

You might not know it, but... I'm a Diane Kruger fan! Ok, she's sort of an icequeen when it comes to her acting (hello, emotions?) but GOOOOD, this woman has IT! As in: the looks and the sense of style. My cousine Serafien - I have a big family if you were wondering - who married last October (I showed one picture of it here) will marry again (with the same husband from her marriage in October, to be clear) for church in May. It's the event in our family this year, so everyone (at least the women) is already searching for a dress and shoes and all the other stuff. I found my dress this weekend at Clinic, Antwerp. A very cool store with lovely clothes! The dress is from the brand Traffic People, but I won't say more (I have a few family members who read my blog too). But I l.o.v.e. it. Anyway, I can hear you thinking: "What has Diane Kruger to do with all this?". The answer is: one of these 6 pictures will be the ultimate inspiration for my hairdo on May 19th! What's your favourite? I do have a sort of 'favourite' but I'm still open for your suggestions...

Krystal Simpson

Shame, shame, shame on me! I recently re-discovered the blog of Krystal Simpson (whatisrealityanyway) and I completely forgot what a fabulous style she has! A lot a black, white, stripes and polkadots combined with a fierce attitude and a lot of grungyness. Hats are her trademark and I like the fact that she wears the same things again (and again); her Isabel Marant boots for example. I don't like every outfit she wears on her blog (I like some grunge-things but no punk-things) but I adore her tomboyish, yet feminine no-nonsense outfits (obviously the ones I show on my blog). Enjoy her outfits and get inspired by this beautiful lady.

GIRL CRUSH | Clémence Poésy

Bekend als Fleur Delacour in Harry Potter, maar beroemd door haar gevoel voor stijl: meet Clémence Poésy. Au naturel, veel laagjes en een tikkeltje bohémien, zo valt haar stijl het best te omschrijven. And I like! Killerheels zijn niet aan de orde voor Clémence, en daar ben ik zeker voor te vinden! Ook haar gebruik van natuurlijke en sobere kleuren (grijs, bruin, zwart, donkerblauw, bordeaux, kaki, beige...) vind ik een zeeeeeerrr grote plus. Take a look and get inspired...

GIRL CRUSH | Kate Bosworth

Geïnspireerd door de 'Girl Crush'-post van Plutôt la vie de Melanie besloot ik ook een post te maken over één van mijn 'Girl Crushes', namelijk Kate Bosworth. Mijn absolute Fashionista Numéro Uno! Op acteergebied stelt ze niet zo veel voor, op stijlgebied des te meer. No nonsense, minimalistisch, sophisticated en basic met een hippe twist; zo omschrijf ik haar stijl het best. Maar je kan haar niet in één vakje stoppen. Want ook al draagt ze vaak 'gewone' dingen (zoals een jeans, korte botjes, een dikke gilet, een hemdje, een korte jurk...), je kan haar evengoed zien in een gedurfde outfit (zoals die met haar lichtgroene maxi-rok en witte T-shirt of die met haar rode, lederen broek). En, anders dan andere celebs, draagt zij haar kleren meerdere malen - dat kan je bij deze foto's goed zien (zeker de Isabel Marant(?)-botjes!). En ze introduceert de trends in haar kledingstijl, niet omgekeerd. Veel kijk- en inspiratieplezier! (+ mijn favoriete looks/items heb ik met hartjes aangeduid)
