Listening with Laura - the eighth session

Geen betere manier om in de zomersfeer te geraken dan te luisteren naar goeie muziek, toch? Ik denk dat iedereen wel verlangt naar de zomer, maar ik span toch wel de kroon. 't Zijn twee rare, drukke en zware maanden geweest en ik verlang zo hard naar een beetje zon en schaamteloos 'niksdoen'. Ook wel eens leuk: mijn vakantie is nog helemaal blanco - behalve een zaterdagticket van Couleur Café staat er nog niets vast... Waarschijnlijk ga ik wel op reis met mijn mama maar de de bestemming is nog onbekend. Maar hup, nu nog een dikke week in mijn boeken vliegen! Een tip voor de studenten die stijf staan van de zenuwen: luister in je pauze naar onderstaande nummers en je voelt je op slag heel erg chill. Of ligt dat nu enkel aan mij?

Hoewel ik doodop ben dankzij een intensieve schoolgerelateerde workshop, heb ik toch nog zin om te feesten. De reden? Ik heb slechts 1 herexamen (van de 11 examens - en ja, daar ben ik heel blij mee) en morgen vertrek ik voor enkele dagen naar Londen! Listening with Laura - The fifth session

Een nieuws seizoen, een nieuwe Listening with Laura. Willen jullie om de 3 maanden een Listening with Laura- post of mogen ze elkaar ietsje sneller opvolgen? Ik neem aan dat mijn blog wat langer duurt om te laden wanneer er veel Youtube- filmpjes te zien zijn, dus ik zal mij proberen te bedwingen niet te veel LWL's te posten :-) De voorbije anderhalve maand is snel gegaan (moeilijke momenten vliegen ook voorbij) en een vriendin van me, die ik al een tijdje niet meer heb gezien, wees me er nog eens op dat 't leven toch snel gaat. In de herfst word ik ook steeds wat nostalgisch, dus bij deze enkele nummers die de afgelopen jaren/maanden veel betekenis hebben gekregen en waar veel herinneringen (aan personen) bij tevoorschijn komen. And if I may say so: er zitten pareltjes tussen.

Jawel! Een vierde sessie Listening with Laura... Het is geen toeval dat ik deze sessie vandaag heb gepland én hartjes in de titel heb gezet, want: mijn lief en ik zijn vandaag 2 jaar samen, HOERA! We hebben beide onze kleine kantjes en hebben ook onze verschillen, maar die verschillen wegen niet op tegen de vele gelijkenissen die we hebben. Listening with Laura - The third session

Woo-hoo! The third session of 'Listening with Laura'! I hope you're all as excited as I am, haha. Although I'm in the middle of my exams, all I can think about is 'It's almost summer'. So that's why the title of this session's called Summertime, obviously. In less than a month you can find me at Tour & Taxis in Brussels - for Couleur Café! - and June 30th I'm off to Italy! I'm so sorry for my absence! I've been so busy with my internship at a primary school that I've neglected my blog a bit... Anyway, I worked hard the past week(s) so I 'spoiled' myself with a weekend of doing nothing, nada, niente, rien. Together with the boyfriend, of course. Listening with Laura - The first session

Well hello, ladies and gentlemen. Say hi to the brand new blogcategory 'Listening with Laura'. Exams are (almost) over and while I was 'cleaning up' the hard drive of my Macbook and sorting out songs on iTunes, I suddenly had the idea to put my favourite songs on my blog. You can say I love music (like a lot of people do), but it's not that I spend every minute of every day listening to music. There are days I don't listen to any music at all. But, when I listen to music, it has to be good music! I've already made some music-related posts (see them here), but now I want to do it on a regular base. I must warn you: I don't listen to commercial shit, I listen to (old) hip-hop, reggae, blues, dub, ska, soul, R&B, jazz, rap and worldmusic in general.
